by | Aug 27, 2018 | Family Blog

This month’s featured Inversant facilitator is Tiffany Currie, Program Facilitator in Revere.

Where are you from originally? Massachusetts

Where did you go to college and what did you study? Northeastern University: Bachelor of Science Elementary & Special Education and Springfield College: MEd Counseling – Higher Education

How did you come to be involved with Inversant? As the College & Career Counselor at Revere High it made perfect sense for me to work with families as I work with their students each day at school.

What is your favorite part about being a Learning Circle Facilitator? As a parent of 2 recent college graduates, an 8th grader and sophomore in high school, I understand their pain! I like to share my experience and knowledge working in higher education for over 25 years.

When you were preparing for college, what do you wish you would have known ahead of time? I wish I had learned more about careers and opportunities before selecting a major. I didn’t know there were other careers outside of education. I came from a family of teachers.

What is the best question you have been asked by a parent during a Learning Circle? “Is higher education worth it?” YES!

What Learning Circle do you think is a “don’t miss” and why?  College admissions process. Students have some basic information from peers, counselors and teachers. Parents are often on the own to learn this information. Any topic about $$$$$ and college!

What was your favorite class in college?  Higher Education Law

What is your favorite ice cream flavor? Black Raspberry Chip

What is your favorite thing to do in Boston? I love to walk the beach!
