Ayana King!
Ayana King first heard about Inversant from a presentation given at the Boys & Girls Club of Boston. She had never thought of college savings for her two children, Edward and Tayana, and said the presentation was a “wake up call to get started.” She was drawn to the program because it ensured she wouldn’t have to go through the process alone, that she “would get help along the way.”
Ayana, who received her MBA from the University of Phoenix and currently works for a biotech company, understands the significance of going to college. “It’s a place [for my kids] to gain more knowledge about themselves in order to make a path toward their own future,” she says. Ultimately, Ayana believes that college is where her kids will decide what they want to do with their lives.
In the fall, Tayana will be going to UMass Dartmouth, where she’s planning to study sociology. Edward will be a sophomore at Bedford High School and is interested in music and designing; – he’s even started his own music business. Ayana is proud of what her family has accomplished and is eager to share what she’s learned with others. “If you don’t know about the college process then you should start as soon as possible,” Ayana says. “College is not for all kids but gaining the knowledge about higher education is important.”
