Congrats to Our May Sweepstakes Winner
Martina Ventura!

Martina Ventura has been participating in Inversant programs since 2010. Now, both of her children have graduated from high school, so what better send-off can there be than winning the May savings sweepstakes?

She joined the Inversant family when her son Alexis enrolled in La Vida Scholars. After he graduated, she continued with her daughter Alexandra at KIPP Lynn. “They told me it was a savings program for college where I would learn how to save and how to apply for college,” she recalls. “The first piece was the learning how to save and getting help to save. I am a mother and father to my kids, so it’s hard for me to do it on my own. The second piece was the orientation piece. The guidance of teaching me about the process, what to do, what steps to take, and how to apply to things was a big help.”

Alexis and Alexandra are out of school for now, but they are both busy over the summer. Last year, Alexis worked at Salem High School, painting classrooms and doing general clean-up, and Alexandra worked for City Hall in Lynn. This summer, Alexis is preparing to go back to school after participating in the Year Up program and Alexandra will work at Greater Lynn Senior Services. Alexandra is also preparing to begin her first year at Salem State University in the fall. “I knew I wanted them to go to college to do better than me,” Martina tells us. They are well on their way to a bright future!
