Leah Arteaga!
Leah Arteaga first heard about Inversant through a friend at the Boys and Girls Club Camp Harbor View. As a mother of three boys between the ages of 12 and 18, Arteaga knew college was on the family’s radar but was unaware of how much went into the planning and saving process.
She has been a committed parent within the Inversant community and has already sent off her first child, Brandon, to college. Brandon just finished his first year at Springfield College and will be transferring to Lasell College this fall. He found that he wanted to be closer to his support network like his family and friends. At Lasell College, Brandon is excited to take courses that will lead him into becoming an Athletic Director working with youth. This summer, he will be a camp counselor at the Hill House on Beacon Hill, working on various summer activities with kids ages 3 to 5.
Brandon is not the only one keeping busy this summer. His younger brother, Alex, is an instructor in training at Courageous Sailing where he is making sure to contribute to his college savings account. Leah shares that, “I want them to be on a trajectory of success, that’s all that matters. It’s the equivalent of putting them on a boat going off into the ocean. So what kind of boat do you want to put them on? You want a solid, safe one that has the ability to navigate the waters. I need them to be able to have the base knowledge, education, and experience to sail out independently.” Leah and her children continue to work hard in achieving higher education success.
